Fablefall is an Asymmetric Euro War Game with inspirations from Root and Rising Sun. Within the game, Forces (Order, Industry, Myth, and Rebellion) vie for control of the narrative by gaining victory points called Fable Points. As you recruit soldiers, invade and defend territories, and battle opponents, you must also learn to achieve objectives that influence certain narrative arenas - the lore of your exploits, the art produced concerning your deeds, and the people’s respect for your actions. All of these give you points each round and whoever has the most points at the end, wins the game. Excel at determining the Fables told of you and your deeds, and you’ve controlled not just a region on a map, but the hearts and minds of its people. Wars will either see the combatants' efforts forgotten to time, or cemented in stories.

Will Fablefall use AI art?
Fablefall will have all original art pieces done by RAD AF humans. We are committed to using live artists and writers instead of Artificial Intelligence for our game. Because of this, a large amount of our crowdfunding will be used to pay these amazing and deserving people!
Stories are how we make sense of our world. We tell stories about our days, our lives, about how we got to where we are and where we hope we’re going. We tell stories about neighbors and strangers, about our friends and our enemies… and about the wars that erupt in between. Wars fought for control of our world, and control of the stories that shape it.
But there is another world. A world that every mind touches when it dreams, when it imagines, when it creates. A world where stories churn and collide and bleed, melt, morph, and distort. Here, aboard the decks of flying pirate ships, through lollipop canyons and the deepest blackness of space, we enter a world where the swirling essence of story reigns. The fundamental forces of Order, Industry, Myth, and Rebellion exist here in their rawest, most primal forms, battling for control of the stories that shape their world. Stories about power and creation, about magic and change, about birth and death and everything that happens in between.

Andrew Gilbert, PhD.
Andrew is a Co-Founder of Helpful Goat Gaming and teaches Game Studies, Cinema Studies, Humanities, and Philosophy at the University of Colorado. He has been creating worlds and campaigns for many years including his time as the GM for Helpful Goat Gaming’s Podcasts Goats and Dragons and Dom and Dragons. He loves games of all types, but his favorites are Spirit Island, Chrono Trigger, and Dungeons and Dragons.
Cameron is an Illustrator/2D Concept Artist based in the Chicago area of the US. He graduated from NIU for Illustration in 2016. Cameron loves mecha, dragons, and giant monsters, and he mostly plays video games in spare his time. Favorite game is Shadow of the Colossus.
is a graphic designer and illustrator located in the Baltimore region. When not surveying the local ferns or hanging out with her cats, she spends the rest of the day working on graphic design and playing video games. Her work specializes in illustration, animation, & brand consultation, with Megan’s animation work surpassing 28 million views across giphy’s social media network. Along with animation design, Megan’s illustrations were featured in the book “The Ballad of Paperclip Jim,” published in Spring of 2023. To the kind souls who made it to the end of Megan's bio, sadly enough the work produced by Meg and Egg Design does not come with an actual side of eggs (fried, or otherwise).
Sinestesia is a 3D sculptor from Spain working on miniatures for your tabletop games, role-playing games, and all-sizes figures for professional purposes in your commercial project or 3D printing for your hobby at home. Sinestesia has more than 7 years of experience in 3D sculpting.
Fablefall is played between 2-4 players who draft actions, perform those actions, and gain points for certain accomplishments within the game. Each of the four forces (Order, Industry, Myth, and Rebellion) both play the game and gain points differently. The Force of Order begins the game with the most regions under their control. They gain points by maintaining control of these regions. They often play very defensively and attempt to gain more regions, often through exploration. The Force of Industry begins weaker, but ramps up quickly. They gain points and money by engaging in battles and taking territories. The Force of Myth gains points from converting regions to their belief systems. They start weaker than the others, but use their “influence tokens” to take over regions from other players. And the Force of Rebellion steals individual units from other players, has a secret base, and makes alliances strategically to further their own cause. And all players are not simply attempting to control territory and win a war, but also to control the narrative. The narrative arenas of Lore, Art, and Public Respect each have a ranked system in which you gain 4 points for being first in that arena, 3 for second, 2 for third, and 1 for fourth. You rise in the arena whenever you perform an action that results in the activation of that arena. For example, the Narrative Arena of Public Respect rewards those who explore new regions in the world of Fablefall. By the end of the allotted rounds, whoever has the most points, has written their story into the history of this world.
